Sell to your town, and back it at the same time
Local households are already looking for what you make. List one offer, and a share of every sale goes to the school, club or group your customer supports. It costs them nothing extra and it costs you nothing to list.
List one offer now
Pick a starter for your trade and change the name and price to suit. Once you are in, photograph your price board or counter and we turn it into the rest of your range, so there is no catalogue to type.
Confirm your email
We send you a link that proves the address is yours. From your dashboard you then connect payouts through a short Stripe form: you are paid directly and we never hold the money.
We publish your shop
We check every shop before it goes live. Once it is published your offers go into the weekly round-up to local households, and a share of our fee on each sale goes to the group that customer backs.
Not open to businesses just yet
We are signing up the first Reigate businesses by hand so we can look after them properly. If you would like to be one of them, email hello@backmytown.com and tell us what you sell. We will come back to you before this opens.
The questions shopkeepers actually ask
- What does it cost?
- 4% of each sale, taken by Stripe before it pays you. Part of that is what goes to the buyer’s chosen group. No subscription, no minimum, nothing to pay if you sell nothing.
- Who holds the money?
- You do. Payments go directly to your own Stripe account and you stay the merchant of record, exactly as you are on your own card machine. We are never in the middle of it.
- Do I have to discount?
- No. You agree not to list above your usual shop price. Plenty of businesses list at exactly their normal price and let the fundraising be the reason people choose them.
- I already have a website. Does this replace it?
- No, and it is not trying to. This is a way for local households to find you and order ahead, alongside whatever you already run.
