Privacy policy
This policy is being finalised as we work towards becoming a registered charity. Please check back for updates.
InvestReigate is a community organisation, run by parents, that brings Reigate together for local events. We respect your privacy and handle personal data carefully and lawfully.
What we collect
We only collect what we need: the details you give us when you enquire about sponsorship or a pitch, submit a review, sign up for an event, or contact us. This may include your name, email address and the content of your message or review.
How we use it
We use your information to reply to you, to run our events, to moderate and publish reviews you choose to submit, and to keep you updated where you have asked us to. We do not sell your data.
Reviews
If you submit a review, the name you give and your review text are published on the relevant business page once approved. Please do not include anything you would not want shown publicly.
Analytics and cookies
If you say yes when we ask, we use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit and how they arrive, so we can make the site more useful. It tells us about pages and visits, not about who you are, and we never use it for advertising: Google Analytics sets no advertising cookies here, whatever you choose.
Nothing is collected until you accept. If you do, Google Analytics stores two small cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by a code) so it can tell one visit from another, and Google keeps the data for up to 14 months. If you decline, it stays off.
You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page. Choosing Decline there switches analytics off and removes those cookies from your browser.
Films
Some pages carry a film that plays from YouTube. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play, so simply visiting the page shares nothing with it. When you do press play, the film runs in YouTube's privacy-enhanced player, and YouTube may store information in your browser under Google's privacy policy. The Cookie settings link does not cover it, because it is your press of the play button that loads it.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To do so, or for any privacy question, email events@investreigate.org.
